Due to its altitude, the mountains located between Canigó and the upper part of the Catalan regions of Ripollés and Conflent tend to receive significant amounts of snow each winter, forming the snow runners who are the protagonists of this guide year after year.
This new work by Pako Sánchez includes a total of 42 slopes and 164 runners. This guide is a double work of compilation, on the one hand, and tireless exploration, on the other.
In the guide we find valleys and very frequented areas, such as the summits of the Gra de Fajol. At the same time, we find less frequented alpine slopes, such as the North of Pic de l’Infern, the Cirque de Cambrasdase and others rarely visited, such as Roc del Boc, Pic Rodó or the eastern slope of Torre d’Eina. Even more unusual and unpublished, this guide serves as an official presentation of the last slopes to be explored in this area of the Pyrenees: Pic de Prats de Bacivers, Pic de la Dona and the Racons.
